Scheduling an Appointment

What if I cancel my appointment?

As long as it is not within 24 hours of the appointment, you will receive a full refund.

Is there an UberDoc near me?

Most likely, yes. You simply include your zip code in your search and the results will display specialists’ offices listed in order of distance from the zip code you entered.

How fast can I get an appointment?

Appointments can be made as soon as within 12 hours, or as soon as the doctor you’re looking to see has listed an open appointment.

Selecting a doctor

How do I know the doctor is one I can trust?

UberDocs are vetted through a stringent credentialing process. If a doctor does not meet our strict standard of excellence, we do not invite them to become an UberDoc.

Do UberDocs have video (telemedicine) consults?

Many UberDoc highly-qualified medical specialists offer telemedicine visits.

The search results display the doctor’s “Visit Type Available” with each doctor listed. If both in-person and telemedicine visit types are available, you will be prompted to choose how you want to meet the doctor when you book the appointment.

What if I need a specialist close to home or work?

The choice is yours. You can find an UberDoc based on zip codes closest to your home or work.

Pricing and Insurance

How much does it cost?

A flat fee of $250 for the consultation ($50 for qualified Medicare patients). You pay $50 when you book the appointment and another $200 after you see the doctor.

What is included in the $250 cost?

Each appointment booked through UberDoc is $250. This is for an in-office consultation or an online, telemedicine conference with a top doctor regarding the medical complaint that you list on the HIPAA-protected appointment request form while booking your appointment. All other consults, lab tests, procedures and follow-up appointments are considered a separate encounter, and paid for separately.

Do you accept Medicare?

Many UberDocs are Medicare providers. If the doctor is not a Medicare provider, they will not accept your appointment request as a Medicare patient.  Qualified Medicare patients* pay only $50 for the appointment. *Patient must have valid Medicare coverage that includes in-office consults (Part B), physician must be a Medicare provider, and  the specialty type must be entitled by Medicare (MD and DO visits).

UberDoc works outside insurance. Your UberDoc appointment can be paid for with your HSA, FSA or major credit card. If the doctor is in your insurance network, any subsequent consults, lab tests, procedures and follow-up appointments can be paid for by insurance.

What insurance do you take?

The UberDoc platform does not accept insurance. You cannot use insurance to pay for an UberDoc appointment. Your UberDc appointment can be paid for with your HSA, FSA or major credit card. If the doctor is in your insurance network, any subsequent consults, lab tests, procedures and follow-up appointments can be paid for by insurance.

Will this apply to my deductible?

No (most people never reach their deductibles). However, with UberDoc, you can use your HSA (Health Savings Account) or FSA (Flexible Spending Account).

What if I don't have insurance?

No problem. There is no referral needed for the first appointment. Payment is made via HSA (Health Savings Account), FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or credit card.

I need to use my HSA (Health Savings Account)

UberDoc is one of the HSA Eligible Expenses. Simply input your Health Savings Account number and the $250 will be deducted without any work on your part.

What if I haven’t met my annual (yearly) deductible?

If you haven’t met your health insurance deductible for the year, you’re an ideal candidate for UberDoc. Since high insurance deductibles are rarely met, we welcome payment by HSA (Health savings Account), FSA (Flexible Spending Account) or credit card.

Is UberDoc an affordable health care option?

Considering that the the average co-pay for an emergency room visit is $250, plus $50 co-pay for an office visit (usually with the Physician’s Assistant), plus $175 co-pay for a specialty care office visit, UberDoc is an affordable health care option in that you pay one flat fee of $250 for one visit to a specialty care doctor who is trained to treat your specific medical concern.
